Built in 1903 with locally-fired bricks made from the river town’s Mississippi mud, the Hodgeden Opera House with its ornate paneling and elaborate details continues as the backdrop to the region’s cultural flair.

Sampaguita is a community space serving the Lakes Area with a diverse retails experience and a philosophy that supports the arts through curating events for our customers. Our listening room hosts weekly concerts from local and national groups, art shows, classes, puppets shows, and more.

The Aitkin Public Library, a branch of East Central Regional Library (ECRL), hosts many free programs and events throughout the year for people of all ages. Information on these free events can be found on ECRL's Events Calendar. The library also features a large meeting room, which is available for use at no cost. The room may not be used for private individuals or for-profit groups, however. One small study room/small conference room accommodating up to 8 people is also available.

The Terrace is a new, all-purpose outdoor event center located in downtown Aitkin, MN. It is currently being built and plans are to be up & running by Spring, 2024.
